I just received word that a very good friend of mine, that I actually met through Etsy and the groups I have joined, has found out she has Breast Cancer. Jodi, is the creator of Happy House Quilts, you may have read my past post about her fabulous Hair Quilts. She has become a great friend and has really taught me a lot about starting a business, marketing, and much, much more... I was brought to tears when I heard her news. I personally have not had to go through this but my Mother, her Mother (my Grandmother), my Great Aunt, and even my Mother in Law have all had Breast Cancer. So, I do know that it is a very, very scary. This was her first mammogram since she is now 40.
I am only 31 and am suppossed to get checked every year because of the risk factor in my family. I have not had a mammogram yet. I am terrified! But I think now seeing what Jodi is having to go through I may what to push past my fear and do it! I have three daughters, as does Jodi, and I think I am more terrified for them than myself.
